Current Project--Finca la Florida, Guatemala, June 29 - July 13, 2009

Our second project will lead us to Guatemala. Through United Planet, a humanitarian aid organization, we will embark on an international service-learning project near Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. The rural village of Finca la Florida needs medical attention. Students will combine their classroom education and basic medical training with the real-world experience of a lifetime to bring medical aid to those in need.

A seven-member team, consisting of UM Students from various majors, has been selected to travel for this year's project. Currently, this team is in the process of raising funds for the trip. They are also planning and organizing a lecture series for all Global Grizzlies participants which will be offered for credit this coming Spring semester.
